Mr. Richard M. Anderson, has over 35 years experience in the property management industry. Prior to starting Hunter McLeod Realty Corp., he spent 10 ½ years employed with PCI Realty Corp., a prominent property management company in Vancouver.
Joining PCI as the sole property manager responsible for the existing mixed portfolio totalling 365,000 square feet, Richard was subsequently promoted to General Manager, Income Properties. Richard's expertise was instrumental in building a diverse portfolio totalling 4.0 million square feet and comprising Commercial (downtown and suburban office), Retail (enclosed malls, strip centers, strata titled), Residential (apartments and strata titled) and Industrial properties in the majority of the municipalities in the lower mainland. There were over 60 head office and field employees in the property management company.
Since starting Hunter McLeod Realty Corp., Richard has been methodically building a niche property management company within the goals and objectives outlined in the company profile. The portfolio consists of residential, office, retail and industrial properties and has been kept at an optimum size to allow for the required senior management attention. In addition to the full management services provided for the majority of his portfolio, Richard is working with property owners as a consultant providing management expertise and tenant liaison / facility management services.
Richard is a past President of BOMA BC, The Building Owners and Managers Association and has served on a number of committees for BOMA Canada and BOMA International. He is past chair of the BOMA Property Tax committee and previously represented BOMA on the City of Vancouver Citizens Advisory Group on Property Taxation. Richard currently is chair of the Green Building Foundation which has been set up to administer the BOMA BESt program. He is a past Vice President/director of both PAMA, The Professional Association of Managing Agents and the Rental Housing Council. A native of Vancouver, Richard has established a wide network of contacts through these and other industry associations, club memberships and personal acquaintances.
Richard Anderson is the Managing Broker of Hunter McLeod Realty Corp. and is licensed under the Real Estate Services Act to provide Trading and Rental Property Management services. In addition, he has previously attained the "CPM" Certified Property Manager designation from the Institute of Real Estate Management.
David is well known in the local real estate industry having worked in property management for over 32 years including notable firms such as PCI Realty Corp, Morguard Investments and Beutel Goodman Real Estate, with 20 years at Hunter McLeod Realty Corp. He is well versed in all disciplines including downtown office, community shopping centers, industrial, flex office, residential and strata. He has worked throughout the entire Lower Mainland and has managed properties on Vancouver Island and in Kelowna. David’s strengths include leasing, operations, tenant improvement, capital project management, budgeting, contract negotiations, bid tendering, financial statement analysis, etc.
David holds a diploma from BCIT and the RPA designation as well as a BC Realtors’ license.
